Nobody likes change. It hurts. Downsizing, rightsizing, restructuring, call it what you will, but you can't deny it affects people in a very real way. And not just for the downsized. Those that are left often feel battered, confused, lost. What's the result? A workforce that feels demotivated, disconnected and insecure.

Helping people to re-engage after change has never been such a challenge for leaders. Telling people that they need to do so will only push them further away. Ensuring that people are heard, and helping them to see the benefits of reintegration, as well as devising a personalized strategy for emerging from the darkness is what is needed.
