UTN Training

Utilities Training (Northern) Ltd - UTN, was formed in June 1996 to meet a specific need within the Construction Industry to ensure that Public Utility Companies and their Contractors received adequate training to comply with the New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991. (NRSWA)

Following on from the success of this specific training, UTN expanded rapidly to meet the Customers needs, with the many and varied requests for general health and safety training within other industries. As well as expanding its portfolio of construction skills training i.e Scaffolding, plant operation and many more. More recently, UTN introduced more management training courses, for example SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), IOSH and NEBOSH.

Our current facilities in Wakefield consists of 14,500 sq ft of covered training area for training such as Scaffolding, PASMA, and Confined Spaces. A secure compound for New Roads & Streetworks training sits at the rear of the training centre. We have 11 classrooms to accommodate the theory side of these courses as well as all the other types of classroom based courses.Over the years our systems and expertise have gained UTN approval from City & Guilds, Cskills, IOSH, NEBOSH, PASMA, ISO accreditation and other awarding bodies, to enable us to deliver training either at our facilities in Wakefield or at clients premises.
